DMCA & Copyright Policy

1. Overview

Dork Date respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), we will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with applicable law.

2. User Responsibility

By uploading photos, bios, or other content to Dork Date, you represent that you own or have the right to use that content. You may not upload content that infringes on another person's copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.

3. Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe your copyrighted work has been used on Dork Date without authorization, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice. Your notice must include:

  • A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  • A description of where the infringing material is located on the platform (e.g., a profile URL or screenshot).
  • Your contact information (name, address, email, phone number).
  • A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

4. Counter-Notification

If your content was removed and you believe it was taken down in error, you may file a counter-notification. Your counter-notice must include:

  • Identification of the material that was removed and its former location.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  • Your name, address, and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district.
  • Your physical or electronic signature.

5. Repeat Infringers

Dork Date will terminate accounts of users who are found to be repeat copyright infringers. We track DMCA notices per account and may suspend or permanently ban users with multiple valid complaints.

6. How to Submit

Send DMCA notices and counter-notifications to our designated agent at contact@dorkdate.net. Please include “DMCA Notice” or “DMCA Counter-Notice” in the subject line.
